Greetings, NBA Top Shot collectors! To celebrate the NBA playoffs and create a friendly competition amongst the Top Shot community, I have established an extremely unofficial contest with a simple premise — win the tournament, win all of the Moments.

I have to make myself very clear: this is in no way officially affiliated with NBA Top Shot or the NBA.

This started on Twitter and gained enough steam that I had to go through with it, so participate if you’d like, and good luck!

Here’s how it’s going to work:

• Fill out a NBA Playoff bracket with your predictions for each round and the 2021 NBA Champion (details below)
• Predict the MVP of the NBA Finals (tiebreaker one) and total points, rebounds, and assists the MVP will have in the NBA Finals (tiebreaker two)
• Submit any NBA Top Shot Moment under $25 in value (based on current MP prices as of May 20–22) as your entree fee — the only way for us to do this is for you to send me the Moment as a gift. If you’ve been following me on Twitter, I’d like to think you can trust me, but I promise you that I will not be using this highly public event and platform to pull one over on you. I mean, hell, if you want to give something more valuable, go for it, but any Moment between $2 — $25 will get you in.
• Whoever comes in first place at the end of the tournament will win all of the Moments, which I will gift to them upon the completion of the NBA Finals! There is no prize for second place.

Email your predictions for each round, the NBA Finals, the Finals MVP, and the Finals MVP points + rebounds + assists to packripewing@gmail.com before 2 PM ET on Saturday, May 22rd! (tip-off of the first game of the Playoffs)

By Sunday morning (May 23), I will tweet out a shared document that contains everyone’s picks and Moments, and also update this blog post with the same details.

My intent is for this to be as transparent as everything else that happens on Top Shot. I will also create a series of Showcases that spotlight all of the Moments, so it’s easy to follow.

I borrowed this graphic from the NBA website, I hope they don’t mind. Obviously I don’t recommend submitting your picks until the 8 v. 1 matchups are finalized, unless you really like to live on the edge, but I couldn’t wait that long to publish this and still expect people to complete it before opening tipoff on Saturday. The template for you to copy, paste, and complete is below the graphic.

• EACH CORRECTLY PREDICTED MATCHUP IN ROUNDS 1, 2, & 3 IS WORTH 1 POINT
• THE NBA FINALS WINNER IS WORTH 3 POINTS
• IN CASE OF A TIE, FINALS MVP IS THE TIEBREAKER
• IN CASE OF A TIE AFTER THAT, TOTAL POINTS + REBOUNDS + ASSISTS IS THE TIEBREAKER — THIS WILL NOT BE “PRICE IS RIGHT RULES,” SO WHOEVER IS CLOSEST, WHETHER OVER OR UNDER, WILL WIN
